Last week, we went to a Tagaytay outing with our neighbors. The place was really amazing, as it is offers an overview of the Taal Volcano. Since I couldn’t enjoy the swimming because of some cycle (yikes), I thought then that this would be a good opportunity to take subjects of the kids enjoying the waters, and of the view of course.

This is a collage of nine (9) photos. Months ago, I stumbled upon an article in the internet that talks about different styles on how to improve your kind of photography, creatively. Below is my work in progress regarding this:

Basically, you just need to align the photos but not to the extent that it’s gonna look flawless :)
Anyway, here’s my other shots - I have a lot though, but these are my favorites. Enjoy! :D

Yaaaaay! My isaw photo is featured on CNN Go International’s iReport, which was out on May 3, 2012, but since I was out of internet’s reach for the last four (4) days, I didn’t know anything about this until now! :))
Last week, CNN Go emailed me that they’re interested in featuring my photo on their website, and they also asked me questions about the technical and other information about myself and of the photo I took.

This is my sister, Mona. For the longest time, she’s been asking me to shoot her on a girly, vibrant theme but because I was thinking that the theme she’s asking me to do is so overused, I told her to dance whatever while I’m shooting her.
We ended up having a “swag moves + youth” theme. She loves dancing, seriously. I mean, really - it’s the kind of love that would endure a thousand complaints from us, her family. Knowing that, I took the liberty of capturing how she looks like when she dances, and how she does it. I did it, because I want her to have something to remind her that no one can stop her from doing what she loves to do, and yep, that she dances really well.

You can visit Mona’s tumblr by clicking this, and you can add her on FB too (she accepts eveyone she’s so weird hahahaha). Anyway, I hope you like this set! :D
Branding and Marketing materials of Yla Corotan Photography
The Marketing strategies for Photographers class I had last term was such a big help for me in terms of deciding which genre of photography I should focus more on, and working on marketing my self as a photographer as well.
As a requirement in class, we were asked to produce few marketing materials as tools for our branding and self promotion. This way, we were able to think up of some serious (and professional) stuff and apply the genre we chose to the materials we were making.
Since I am into Human Interest Photography, which emphasizes on emotions, I thought of doing something that would tickle the imagination of my clients, and involve them to the kind of work that I do. I ended up with a leave behind (4 steps to make me happy), a cd sleeve (with a “Life is amazing. Don’t miss it!” note), and business cards (wanderlust for travel/landscape, and euphoria for people).
I’m not sure if it’s effective, but I’m certain that it’s something worth keeping and remembering. Afterall, being remembered is what I would want my photography to be for people or for my clients.
So if you want some of this (and my photography of course), hire me! :)
